Cape Resorts Hosts Numerous Family Friendly Summer Activities

Summer is here and it’s time to celebrate with family fun activities at Cape Resorts in Cape May. Check out one of these great events, held all summer long!

Every Monday from now until August 31st from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Congress Hall is host to a Carnival! The Grand Lawn transforms into a carnival festival with booths, carnival hosts, games for all ages, face painting, balloon twisting, food, treats, and more! Snack on some kettle corn popcorn while playing skee ball. Chow down on yummy hot dogs while taking part in a pig race. You can even take a train ride on our Congress Hall Express. The whole family is invited to take part!

If you are interested in a barbeque, head over to The Rusty Nail every Monday until September 7th at 4 p.m. to get your hands on some delicious pork treats! All summer long Grill Master Jimmy Burton will be hosting a Pig Roast using a Berkshire Pig raised locally at Beach Plum Farm. Jimmy’s Smokin’ pig roast is a favorite event among locals and visitors alike, so get there early for your piece of the pig!

On Tuesdays, create your own tie-dye master piece! Back by popular demand you can you can tie-dye a Congress Hall or Beach Shack T-Shirt every Tuesday at two times and two locations! All supplies are provide, only $20 for adults and $15 for children. Congress Hall hosts the event from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. and the Rusty Nail hosts it from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Keep your creative juices flowing on Wednesdays through September 2nd. From 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Congress Hall, kids can enjoy an afternoon of arts and crafts on the veranda. Stay in the shade while turning plain rocks, shells, and other extraordinary canvases into works of art.

On Wednesdays from July 3rd to August 19th, join the staff of Congress Hall for their second series of Square Dance Nights on the Grand Lawn this summer! Beginners and pros will learn a variety of moves from our square dance experts. Each night will feature a different local brewery for you to enjoy. Sip on your favorite craft beer and grab a snack while you learn to Do-Si-Do with family and friends!

Thursdays are all about clay! Join Miss Brenda, instructor from Island Studio in Stone Harbor for Ceramics on the Veranda at Congress Hall from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. until September 3rd to create your very own vacation keepsake. Prices vary depending on the ceramic piece you decide to make!

After, join in on the Family Karaoke event, starting at 6 p.m. and ending at 8 p.m. every Thursday at Congress Hall. Elliot Batterman will lead the sing-a-long to all of your favorite songs. Choose from thousands of hits!

On Saturday and Sundays beginning at 9:30 a.m. go Cape Resorts’ Beach Plum Farm and experience what the Resorts’ farm-to-table philosophy is all about with our guided tours. Our tour guide will be ready to answer any questions you may have as they take you on a full one-hour tour around our 62-acre farm. $3 per person. Tickets can be purchased at the Concierge Desk at Congress Hall.

Finish out your vacation week with Hul-A-Scoop! Every Sunday from July 12th to September 6th, enjoy an Ice Cream Social featuring an ice cream sundae bar and old-fashioned soda floats out on the Grand Lawn for all families to enjoy! New this year- our Hul-A-Scoop competition. You get one chance to hula hoop for three consecutive minutes. Those who can hula for three minutes win a free ice cream sundae! The event runs from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Available every week until September 6th, Tuesdays through Saturdays at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. and Sundays at 1:30 p.m. join an interactive tour led by “Annie Knight” who owned the hotel from 1904-1931. Tour begins in the lobby and features a 60-minute walking tour through the halls and basement of this grand hotel. Explore Congress Hall and learn more about its remarkable story. $5 for adults, $3 for children ages 4-12. Children under 4 years old are free.
