CAPE MAY — What better way to beat the heat than with a sweet treat? Join Cape May Stage, Cape May’s premier professional Equity theatre, in celebrating its 25th anniversary with an “Old Fashioned Ice Cream Social.” Get a taste of this summer’s sensational production of “Boeing Boeing” by meeting the cast and crew while getting to taste a delicious summer treat. This yummy, free event is scheduled for Aug. 13, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Robert Shackleton Playhouse on Bank and Lafayette Streets.
The “Old Fashioned Ice Cream Social,” hosted by the Board and Staff of Cape May Stage, is part of the theatre’s “25 Free Things” initiative. This initiative represents Cape May Stage’s desire to thank the community for 25 years of support for providing 25 free events throughout the season.
“For 25 years the Cape May community has supported Cape May Stage with their applause and generosity,” said Jon Wojciechowski, the theater’s Managing Director. “Providing 25 free events this season is our way of saying thanks and, hopefully, welcoming new supporters who will help lead us through the next 25 years.”
The “25 Free Things” will continue with a fiery twist with “Danger: Stay Away!” a series of staged readings for the fearless theatregoer, occurring throughout September, October and November.
An “Old Fashioned Ice Cream Social” will take place on Aug. 13 at 1:00 p.m. at the Robert Shackleton Playhouse located at the corner of Bank and Lafayette Streets in downtown Cape May. This event is free for all ages and advance reservations are not required. Additionally, all attendees will have the chance to win tickets to upcoming productions and meet the cast and crew of “Boeing Boeing”.
“Boeing Boeing” plays Tuesdays through Sundays at 8 p.m. The final performance of the show, currently running at the Robert Shackleton Playhouse, will be Sept. 13 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $35 adults, $30 seniors (62+) and $15 students.
