Earlier this year, The Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts & Humanities (MAC) announced their new brand, “Cape May MAC (Museum + Arts + Culture),” which included a new name, logo, and website as part of its 50th anniversary celebration. Although the brand may have changed, the organization’s dedication to educating, enlightening, and entertaining residents and visitors remains the same.

If you’re looking for a day away from the beach, MAC offers family fun for everyone throughout Cape May! The new website gives you all the resources you need to chart your day in Victorian Cape May, but here are a few favorite activities:

Painted Ladies, Porches & More! Walking Tour
Explore Cape May with a walking tour from the 1879 Emlen Physick Estate to the Washington Street Mall. Learn about the Victorian architecture, the town’s history, and more as you take in the beautiful gardens and charm of Cape May. The tours are offered Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays at 10 a.m. & 11:30 a.m. The tour lasts 45 minutes. Comfortable shoes are recommended.  Tickets for the tour are $15 for adults and $10 for children (3-12) and can be purchased online. Tickets are limited due to social distancing and people are required to wear masks for the tour.

Climb the Cape May Lighthouse
The Cape May Lighthouse is now open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., so put on your most comfortable shoes and get ready to climb the 199 steps to the top for a fantastic view! More than 2.5 million visitors have climbed the lighthouse since 1988, so join in on the fun. For those who choose not to climb, head to the Museum Shop to look for souvenirs, books, and maritime items or see the restored Monomoy life-saving boat on display outside. Admission to climb the lighthouse is $10 for adults, $5 for children (3-12) and Veterans, and active military is free. Tickets can be purchased online or at the lighthouse during hours of operation.

Dine at Vintage at the Emlen Physick Estate
Cape May MAC has partnered with the KARA Group to provide a modern, delicious dining experience on the grounds of the Emlen Physick Estate.
