Be sure to bring your appetite because they don’t call it Jumbo’s for nothing! The jumbo size, quality ingredients, and perfect level of crispiness set these slices apart from the rest of the pizza on the Boardwalk. The crust is thin, but not too thin, and gives you the perfect crunch with every bite. All the pizza dough is made with unbleached, unbromated flour and 100% Italian sea salt, then brushed with extra virgin olive oil – something Jumbo’s started doing 13 summers ago before other pizza chains caught on to their idea. For slices that have their signature pizza sauce – the tomatoes are the real star of the sauce, but Executive Chef, Walter “Wally” Jurusz, did admit they add a few other ingredients that really knock it out of the park – but that’s their little secret!
Jumbo’s Grub & Pub is located at 3501 Boardwalk at the start of Mariner’s Pier. The restaurant offers takeout at the front counter right on the Boardwalk and outdoor dining overlooking the pier and the Wildwood beaches.
