Boardwalk Basketball Classic Tournament Returns to the Wildwoods Convention Center Dec. 26-30

THE WILDWOODS – The 22nd annual Boardwalk Basketball Classic returns to the Wildwoods Convention Center Tuesday, Dec. 26 through Saturday, Dec. 30, featuring an impressive lineup of high school boys and girls basketball teams from New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, Delaware, Maryland and Virginia. The event includes approximately 1,000 competitors.

Returning to this year’s annual holiday basketball tournament will be an additional day of competition on Saturday, Dec. 23 beginning at 3 p.m. with the Crest Savings Bank Battle at the Boards, which will feature games comprised of area and out-of-area boys and girls high school basketball teams. It will feature the popular Andrew Alameno Memorial Island Championship Game between the boys teams from Wildwood and Wildwood Catholic high schools.

The Boardwalk Basketball Classic Tournament continues to be the largest single-venue coed high school holiday basketball tournament in the United States. Since its inception, the tournament has raised nearly $300,000 in college scholarship money for graduating seniors at Wildwood and Wildwood Catholic high schools, the two host schools of the event. The tournament is run by an all-volunteer board that solicits sponsorships, ticket sales and other support.

Select games throughout the tournament will be broadcast on 98.7 The Coast radio. For further information about the tournament, including the complete schedule, past results, tournament records and ticket information, visit www.bbclassic.com.
