After a three-year hiatus, Swing is back at Naval Air Station Wildwood Aviation Museum! Always one of the museum’s most popular events, the Big Band Concert and Swing Dance will return on Saturday June 24 from noon until 4pm! Moreover, it will be combined with NASW’s fourth annual Wings & Things Arts and Crafts Festival. Wings and Things has expanded this year to include two full days of festivities so the fun will continue Sunday June 25. The festival will run both days from 10am-4pm.

Live big-band swing music will be performed at this year’s “Wings and Things” festival at Naval Air Station Wildwood.

Thanks to support from the OceanFirst Foundation, Wings & Things allows the museum to reach a broad audience and bond together history and the arts. It is a great time to experience the museum and kick off the summer season. On Saturday, festivalgoers can travel back in time and listen to the sounds of a live Big Band Concert by Swing Fever inside Historic Hangar #1!
Professional dance instructor Tom Cupp will attend and provide FREE dance lessons for all levels. The hangar will be filled with various vendors, exhibitors, and Ford Model As.
Face painting and art classes will be FREE of charge (Art Classes pre-registration is required). On Sunday, Erik Simonsen solo will be performing live in the hangar, playing music from the 80’s through today (11 a.m. to 3 p.m.). Food will be available all day including Josie Kelly’s Public House’s Food Truck, Poppin’ Bobs, and Rita’s Water Ice.
The museum will also have a beer and wine garden for anyone that is 21+. Do not forget, friendly-leashed pets are welcome!
Naval Air Station Wildwood Aviation Museum is located inside historic Hangar #1 at the Cape May Airport. The site was formerly Naval Air Station Wildwood, which served as a World War II dive-bomber training center.
The museum is dedicated to the 42 airmen who perished while training at Naval Air Station Wildwood between 1943 and 1945. Current museum hours are Monday through Friday, 10am-4pm. For more information, visit www.usnasw.org or call (609) 886-8787
