On The Rocks Dockside Grill at the Cape May-Lewes Ferry offers the best waterfront views on the bay, situated overlooking the waters where the Cape May Canal and Delaware Bay meet. This week, we met a guy who’s fortunate enough to take in this beautiful view quite often, our bartender of the week, Michael Rossner.
A native and current resident of Clermont, Michael began his bartending career at Twisties Tavern in Strathmere. He worked just one day a week after doing a partial retirement from his primary career with Verizon Communications. After doing this for 17 years, Michael decided to become more involved in bartending. He saw an online ad about the Ferry needing outside bartenders, he applied, and he got the job!
Now in his third summer bartending at On The Rocks, Michael’s favorite part about the job is the people he works with daily and the friendly customers he meets and connects with. When he’s not serving up drinks behind the bar, he keeps busy as a part-time seasonal contractor. He also enjoys skiing, golfing, walking and playing with his grandkids.
Take a ride to the Ferry and visit Michael at On The Rocks Dockside Grill. He would be happy to mix up his favorite drink for you, a handmade Bloody Mary with old bay seasoning. Or, opt for a different signature drink, such as the Orange Crush or Blueberry Mojito. Stop by during Happy Hour Monday through Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. and get $1 off all beer, wine and well drinks. Enjoy your drink over live entertainment, featured throughout the week at On The Rocks!
