Bartender of the Week: Country Club Tavern

This week, we found our featured local mixologist where country meets Cape May County! Country Club Tavern, better known as CCT, brings country casual dining to our Jersey Shore area with great pub-style meals and frosty cold drinks – served by none other than our bartender of the week, Jean Marcy.

A resident of North Cape May, Jean has been serving up drinks at Country Club Tavern for two years now. She took a bartending course at the age of 19, but had trouble getting a job in the competitive scene. She finally landed a job at the nearby Avalon Golf Club, where she worked for eight years before an opportunity opened up at Country Club Tavern.

Jean’s favorite thing about working at Country Club Tavern is the amazing team she gets to work with. “Everyone gets along so well, it’s like the place almost runs itself,” she says.

When Jean’s not mixing up drinks behind Country Club Tavern’s bar, you can most likely find her near a body of water. Her hobbies include fishing, going to the beach and any type of watersport.

Come visit Jean at Country Club Tavern during Happy Hour Monday through Friday from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. and all day Sunday, featuring $1 Coors Light drafts and $1 off all other drinks. Throughout the week, you’ll find plenty of other food and drink specials during themed nights such as Italian Night on Monday, Fiesta Night on Tuesday, Yuengs n’ Wings on Wednesday and Name That Tune Thursday. For the beer lovers, Country Club Tavern has 24 beers on tap including local favorites like 7 Mile Brewery, Slack Tide Brewing Company and Cape May Brewing Company. Stop by on Tuesday or Saturday to catch live entertainment, and be sure to check out the new outside bar!
