This week we headed to Cabanas Beach Bar and Grill in Cape May to find our featured local mixologist. Among delicious Caribbean food, awesome live entertainment and a “chill and relaxing” vibe, we found our bartender of the week, Jason Palombaro.
Although Jason is a Philadelphia native, he spent much of his time in Cape May County growing up. His parents previously owned a bar in Wildwood, which is where he first got into bartending. At 18 years old on the Friday of Memorial Day Weekend in 1993, he was thrown behind his parents’ bar and told to “sink or swim.” Lucky for Jason, he swam, and has been bartending ever since.
24 years later, Jason is now living in West Wildwood and bartending at Cabanas, thanks to his friend Mary Sexton who “recruited” him. Although Jason works seven days a week, when he finds some free time he likes to drink Jameson.
Come visit Jason and the rest of the Cabanas crew during Happy Hour Monday through Friday from 3 to 7 p.m.! Specials include $2.75 Miller Lite, Coors Light and Yuengling drafts, $4 Coronas and Corona Lights, $2 off house wines by the glass, and $5 classic margaritas, sangrias and orange crushes.
