Bartender of the Week: Brine

Brine is known as the spot on the bay known for fresh fare, seasonal cocktails, breathtaking sunsets and good company. Take in the bay’s salty air and stay for a while, and while you’re there, say hello to our bartender of the week: Sam Turnbull!

This summer is Sam’s first season serving up cold ones at Brine. His work in the restaurant industry started with bussing tables, which eventually led to a job as a barback and learning the speed of the bar. He fell in love with the people aspect of working behind the bar, and worked his way up to creating cocktails as a bartender. At the end of the summer season, Sam plans on moving to Philadelphia to attend school while bartending or serving on the side.

As a lifelong Middle Township resident and a local to the area, naturally Sam loves going to the beach on his time off. He particularly enjoys spending time in the water, either surfing or swimming.

Sam’s favorite part of his job at Brine is meeting new people, working for great owners and of course, the beautiful view of Sunset Lake.

Come visit Sam and experience waterfront views, fresh food and cold drinks. Sam suggests his favorite cocktail, Know the Ropes, made with lime juice, basil simple syrup, cucumber-infused vodka and club soda. Happy Hour is Monday through Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. and features food and drink specials that change as frequently as the tide. And don’t forget, when the sun goes down, the volume goes up with live music seven days a week!
