Bartender of the Week 7/12-7/19

This week’s master mixologist hails from Wildwood’s wood-fired hot spot, the Q-Fire Grille. Now the Q’s bar manager, Domenick Piro has been bartending for eleven years now and has no desire to stop. “It’s the most fun job in the world,” exclaims Dom. “I love the fast pace, making new connections, and talking to new people every day.” Dom’s drink of choice is Heineken, but his Q-signature recommendation would definitely be the Watermelon Fire Margarita. This specialty cocktail is made with two types of Patron, fresh squeezed lime juice, muddled watermelon, and agave syrup. Feeling daring? Add a dash of habanero sauce and take its fiery taste up a notch. Dom is also the perfect person to ask for some Q cuisine counsel. He’s a big fan of the French Cut Pork Chop and Penne a la Vodka, but his absolute favorite is the Cowboy Steak special.

This thick prime rib is accented with crumbled bleu cheese and served on a bed of horseradish mashed potatoes. Dom’s eyes lit up just describing this signature dish of renowned head chef Phil Petitt…While Dom clearly loves his bartending gig at the Q, drumming is also one of his passions. He has been playing for nearly half of his life and is currently a member of the up and coming local band “House Divided”. Check out Dom’s awesome skills on the band’s 5 song EP “Rising From the Dust” at www.housedividedonline.com. Stop by for happy hour with Dom daily from noon to 5 at the Q’s upstairs deck bar for 360° panoramic views of the island, $5 appetizers, and great drink specials.
