Avalon Performing Arts Council Opens 2017 Summer Season with THE British Invasion Years

AVALON – APAC opens the summer season celebrating the groovy Generation with THE British Invasion Years. More than just the Beatles, THE British Invasion Years is “three shows in one”.

THE British Invasion Years band takes you on an amazing nostalgic journey though the ’60s, bringing back the memories of those classic songs by iconic ’60s British and American groups. Music that was so eclectic – The Rolling Stones, The Who, The Kinks, The Zombies and the uplifting pop of Herman Hermits. The Beatles took the first step by swinging the door open and turning the music world on its ear. As a result, American fans began to thirst for more British music. ‘60s American bands responded almost immediately with eclectic sounds of their own – The Beach Boys, The Monkees, The Doors and Steppenwolf with their classic rock edge. The finale to the show, and this incredible trip back in time, ends with music from the The Beatles. The night will be just “groovy.”

See THE British Invasion Years on Saturday, June 3 at Avalon Community Hall, 30th Street & the beach. Doors open 6:30 p.m. and the show starts at 7:30 p.m. Bring your own food and beverage; ice will be provided. Cost is $20 per person. Call (609) 967-3066 for advanced ticket sales/reserved seating, or pay at the door. For more information, visit www.avalonperformingarts.org.
