AVALON – The Avalon Free Public Library has scheduled an appearance by New York Times best-selling author Daniel Silva for Wednesday, July 12 at 7 p.m. as part of its author series. Silva is renowned for his thriller and espionage novels including “The Unlikely Spy,” “Moscow Rules,” “The Heist” and his most recent release, “The Black Widow.”
Silva started his career with United Press International in 1984 before moving to CNN, where he worked as executive producer for a number of television programs including “Crossfire” and “Capital Gang.” After discovering his passion for writing, Silva left the television industry in 1997 and pursued writing full time. Silva’s fourth novel, “The Kill Artist” introduced Gabriel Allon, an Israeli art restorer, spy and assassin, who then became the main character in the next twelve novels, each of which hit the best-seller list.
“Although this will be his first presentation at the Avalon Library, Mr. Silva’s thrilling international spy novels have been longtime favorites of Avalon residents,” said Library Director Erin Brown. “We look forward to hearing about his new book, set for release this summer, and about the process of researching and crafting the rich and sprawling stories he creates.”
In addition to Silva’s lecture, the library will feature a number of other author’s this summer. Past appearances have featured such authors as Lee Child, Christina Baker Kline, Lisa Scottoline, Jennifer Weiner and Elin Hilderbrand.
