Audiences are Loving ELTC’s “The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus”

Only four more times to see “The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus” at East Lynne Theater Company. It’s garnering excellent reviews, including this recent post on TripAdvisor. Here are excerpts:

“Each year ELTC wraps up its season with an all-American Christmas offering. Once again, it delivers the goods like no one else.

L. Frank Baum’s “The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus” was adapted for the stage and is performed by Gayle Stahlhuth. There is no doubt that this was a creation of the same mind that produced “Wizard of Oz.” Filled with fairies, nymphs and other immortal and mythical creatures, it holds the same wonder and magic so often experienced in the “Oz “stories.

Stahlhuth presents Baum’s Christmas tale in traditional storytelling format – but not without plenty of theatrical flair! She performs some 30+ characters – each with his or her own distinct voice, facial traits and idiosyncrasies. This rapid “shifting of the gears” between her numerous characters remains crisp, colorful and engaging. The many children in the audience seemed as captivated as I was. It’s a delightful and enriching theater experience for the entire family.”

The show runs Dec. 10-12, Thursday through Saturday at 8 p.m., with an additional 2 p.m. matinee on Saturday, Dec. 12. Location is the First Presbyterian Church, 500 Hughes St., Cape May. Tickets are $25, $15 for students and military, and free for ages 12 and under. For reservations and information, call (609) 884-5898, email eastlynneco@aol.com, or visit www.eastlynnetheater.org.
