Labor Day has passed and kids are heading back to school. But the warm weather remains, and a full schedule of fall events is just getting started. Ocean City turns its attention to the sky for Air Show Weekend on Sept. 16 and 17.
The annual Ocean City Airport Festival at the Municipal Airport at 26th Street and Bay Avenue will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 16. The festival features a ground display of unusual airplanes ranging from the World War II era to classics and warbirds.
Thrill to some of the best stunt pilots and aerobatic champions in the world and watch military demonstrations at the Boardwalk Aerobatic Air Show on Sunday, Sept. 17. The free show begins at 1 p.m. and is best viewed from the beach and boardwalk between Sixth Street and 14th Street. Performers for the Aerobatic Air Show will be on hand to meet with festival-goers.
This year’s event will include parachutists landing on the beach during the Aerobatic Air Show on Sunday. Check back for details on a special nighttime parachute landing with lights the Saturday night before the show.
The free family event also includes kid’s activities, antique cars, music, food, “Bubblemania” with the Ocean City Board of Realtors and more. For more information, call (609) 399-6111.
