1. Irish Dance Competition: Feis at the Beach
Saturday, April 8 at 9 a.m.
Wildwoods Convention Center, 4501 Boardwalk, Wildwood
The Wildwoods Convention Center hosts the sixth annual “Feis at the Beach,” presented by the Cummins School of Irish Dance. The competitions will include over 1,300 dancers of all ages and expertise. Many vendors will display and sell Irish products in the main lobby. An Irish art competition and an Irish Soda Bread Baking competition will also take place during the event, as well as music competitions. Admission is FREE! 2. 2nd Annual Spring in Tuckahoe Craftsmen & Home Show
Saturday, April 8 and Sunday, April 9 at 10 a.m.
Upper Township Community Center, 1790 Rt. 50, Upper Township
This two-day event will feature an Art & Craft Show, Spring Home Show and networking companies all under one roof. Over 80 vendors are expected to participate over the course of the two days. Visitors will find wood furniture, doll clothes, pet treats, ceramics, fiber arts, photography, outdoor furnishings, watercolors, candles, clothing, bird houses, health products, spring wreaths, hand crafted jewelry and country crafts. Direct sale and home show companies will be on hand offering savings on home remodeling and improvements. This event offers free shopping bags, baked goods, a lunch menu and give-a-ways. 3. Doo Dah Parade
Saturday, April 8 at 12 p.m.
6th and Asbury Ave., Ocean City
Say goodbye to the tax season with a comedy parade featuring 500 Basset Hounds plus comical brigades and costumed characters. Starts at noon, 6th and Asbury Ave., proceeds to 12th Street, then up to the Boardwalk. Ends at Music Pier where PieAsco is held. Folks sit in grandstands and smoosh each other with shaving cream pies, the kind Soupy Sales used on his syndicated TV shows. Event is a tribute to Soupy and all legendary comedians. 4. Cape May Film Festival
Saturday, April 8 at 12 p.m. and 6 p.m.
West Cape May Borough Hall, 732 Broadway, West Cape May
Join the CMFS for an afternoon and evening of a decade-long retrospective of short films moderated by Stefan Prosky. The first session starts at 12 p.m. and the second starts at 6 p.m. Tickets are available online at newnjstatefilmfestival.com and at the door. Cost is $10 for one session or $20 for both! 5. Mr. Mature Pageant
Saturday, April 8 at 7 p.m.
Ocean City Music Pier, Boardwalk and Moorlyn Terrace, Ocean City
The pageant includes competition in talent, judge’s interview, poise and appearance, and on-stage question. The event is the first and only pageant of its kind in the United States. The historic Flanders Hotel returns as a founding sponsor this year. The Flanders will cater meals for contestants and will offer special rates for attendees during the pageant weekend.
