Cape May County’s beautiful beaches have been enticing visitors to the Jersey Cape for centuries. More than 30 miles of white sand connect our resort communities from Ocean City to Cape May, which are ranked among the top in New Jersey and the nation year after year. Though they all share the beautiful Atlantic Coastline, each municipality’s beach is unique and memorable in its own way. Whether you enjoy simply lying in the sun or hitting the water with a surfboard, boogie board or paddleboard, you’ll love all our beaches have to offer.
Avalon shares the island with Stone Harbor to the south, offering a total of seven miles of beach touched by the Atlantic Ocean.

Bathing and swimming are permitted only at protected beaches where lifeguards are on duty. 10 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. thru Labor Day weekend.
Home to some of the most renowned and historic beaches, stretching approximately two miles along Beach Avenue all of Cape May’s beaches are family-friendly, clean, and close to restrooms, dining and accommodations.

Nestled between Sea Isle City and Ocean City is the small community of Strathmere, approximately one and a half miles of quiet, clean, free beaches. Owned by Upper Township, this local spot is known as a hidden gem.
