East Lynne Theater presents “Mr. Lincoln”: On Good Friday, April 14, 1865, the President and Mrs. Lincoln were watching Our American Cousin at Ford’s Theatre when John Wilkes Booth aimed a pistol at Mr. Lincoln’s head, and fired. In Herbert Mitgang’s play, Lincoln’s life flashes before him, from his early days as a lawyer, to President of the United States as the bullet does its dirty deed. East Lynne Theater selected this play to commemorate the 150th Anniversary of Lincoln’s assassination. Admission: $32 general, $27 seniors (age 62+) or disabled, $17 full-time students and military; children 12 and under free. A beautiful home on the bay with a fantastic view, a glass of wine or a cup of tea, and the opportunity to bid on a variety of artwork. It’s all part of a fundraising event hosted by Chuck and Sandy Sieber on from 3to 5 p.m. for the nonprofit East Lynne Theater Company. The silent auction items are 20 pieces of artwork which include original signed oil paintings on canvas and original framed and signed art such as “Female in Desert” by Salvador Dali (188/300) and “Marina Royale” by Chantal Marie of St. Maarten (160/580). Framed prints include Delacroix’s blue/white cityscape with silver frame and “Piper Parade” by Jacqueline Penny. The cost is only $20.
