We know – you might be a little hesitant to try it, but trust us on this sweet and spicy cocktail!
For this week’s drink of the week, one of our advertising associates chose a perfectly sweet and subtly spicy margarita, Chili Mango Margarita, in honor of National Margarita Day this past Monday.
To make the Chili Mango Margarita, you will need one ripe mango, cubed, one cup orange juice, two small limes, juiced, 3 oz. silver tequila, 1 oz. triple sec or orange liqueur, an optional dash of hot sauce and 2 tbsp. agave nectar or maple syrup. Combine all ingredients and blend until smooth and creamy. Chill by blending in a handful of ice cubes, or transfer the mixture to a shaker with ice. For the chili salt rim, brush a lime wedge around the rim and immediately dip the rim into 1 tsp. chili powder combined with ¼ tsp. sea salt. Pour your margarita mixture into your glass over ice, and garnish with a lime wedge.
This recipe serves three, so grab a friend and pair it with some Mexican food, or sip it on a cold winter day to bring back warm summer thoughts.
If you’re ready to celebrate National Margarita Day and try the Chili Mango Margarita, our friends at Joe Canal’s Discount Liquor Outlet in Rio Grande are here to help with huge discounts and monthly specials on all the spirits, wine and beer you need. If you’re further up the coast of the Jersey Shore, Gleeson’s Liquors in Ocean View has a wide range of discounted spirits along with international wines and domestic, imported and craft beers.
