Cape May County is host to a plethora of the fine arts. On a gray day, why not take in a show or admire art at a gallery? Below is a list of some of the many theaters, venues and galleries around Cape May County to do just that.
East Lynne Theater Company, located at 500 Hughes Street in Cape May. The Company hosts a variety of shows throughout the summer. The current line-up of titles for the year are Mr. Lincoln, Huckleberry Finn, Strictly Dishonorable, Poe by Candlelight, Detective Holmes and Carter and The Life & Adventure of Santa Claus. Cape May Stage, also located in Cape May at 405 Lafayette Street hosts many plays as well. The lineup for the Main Stage this year is Mary, Mary, The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe, Dead Man’s Cell Phone, Trying and a Cape May Christmas. Cape May Stage also has a Second Stage program which features Broadway acts and hosts a number of other special events.
The Ocean City Music Pier on the boardwalk at Moorlyn Terrace in Ocean City hosts a number of concerts, plays, performances and even pageants. Check the Music Pier’s website for a full line-up of all events or to purchase tickets. Ocnj.us/musicpier
Wildwood Convention Center at 4501 Boardwalk in Wildwood plays as host to numerous events, performances, concerts, festivals and conventions. Cape May Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts and Humanities (MAC) is a great resource for activities to do in Cape May that educates on the history of Victorian Cape May and the arts. Almost every day in the summer there is a tour or event going on that MAC is hosting. You can stop by the Emlen Physick Estate on 1048 Washington Street or the Ocean Street Trolley Stop on Washington Street and Ocean Avenue for more information.
Ocean Galleries in Stone Harbor displays many great pieces of artwork for all to enjoy and hosts many shows throughout the summer.
