Do something at the shore this week with those you love! Maybe learn about Victorian courting rituals or attend the Ice Ball together. You could take friends and family to see one of Philadelphia’s top jazz bands. Look at some of this week’s highlights below.
Winter Wednesday Wanderings
Wednesday, February 4th from 10am to 12pm
Where: Cape May Bird Observatory’s Northwood Center
Join us at CMBO’s Northwood Center, just off Lighthouse Avenue at Cape May Point for a birding walk in the Cape May area. Each week the route will vary according to the latest bird news and where the best activity is happening – we may make a short drive to a variety of nearby locations. Winter birding can be chilly, but it is also exciting; flocks of ducks throng the inlets, eagles patrol the marshes and mixed flocks of hungry songbirds feed along woodland edge and at favored feeders. Come early (09:30 onward) for a coffee to warm up before the start!

LCMR Art Students Present “Strings and Things” Opening Reception

Where: The Mad Batter Restaurant
Lower Cape May Regional Advanced Art Students proudly announce the seventh annual art exhibit entitled “Strings and Things”. The show will be at the Mad Batter Restaurant, 19 Jackson Street Cape May, from Feb. 5 through March 5. An opening reception will be held for student artists, family, friends, and public Feb. 8 from 3 to 5 pm. The work displayed was created by art teacher Patricia Neville’s advanced art classes. The students studied traditional painting techniques that emphasized the use of chiaroscuro and blending techniques. Students worked in acrylic paints depicting a still-life painting in the subject of their choice.
