An Olde Time Italian Festival
Friday-Saturday September 27th & 28th from 5 pm Friday to 11 pm Saturday
Where: Fox Park, on Ocean Avenue between Burk and Montgomery Avenues, Wildwood
A heaping helping of Olde World Italy will be served with amore and plenty of white, red and green during the 9th Annual Wildwoods Olde Time Italian Festival. The free two-day festival celebrates Italian culture with contests, crafts, and games for the little ones, authentic Italian cuisine and continuous free live entertainment. Take in the traditional smells and tastes of an Italian market, plus Italian-made goods, crafts and merchandise as vendors of all kinds fill Fox Park, including those selling Italian dishes like pastas, sausage and peppers, chicken cutlets, clams & spaghetti, tiramisu, cannolis and more. 7th Annual Mutt Strut

Get ready to celebrate the end of the dog days of summer! Dogs and their owners are invited to stroll Cape May’s Beachfront Promenade on Saturday, Sep. 28 for the 7th annual Mutt Strut. Walkers support a worthwhile cause, with half the event’s proceeds used to purchase K-9 protective vests for the Cape May County Sheriff’s K-9 Unit. The K-9s are currently unprotected in their work and the cost of one vest is about $2500. Registration is required for dogs to be permitted on the Promenade and is held near Convention Hall on Beach Avenue near Gurney Street. The rain date is Sunday, Sep. 29. Cape May Dragon Boat Festival
Saturday, September 28th from 9 am to 5 pm
Where: Cape May Harbor, Cape May
There are 42 teams this year, made up of friends, family, co-workers, clubs, schools, bus drivers, community groups, local businesses, non-profits, and people who just want to have fun. Everyone is encouraged to come out and cheer your favorite team onto the finish line. Each team is comprised of 21 paddlers who race head to head in 41 foot long dragon boats over a 200 meter course. Not only will there be breathtaking races, but also a flower ceremony, Karate performance by Kum Sung School of Martial Arts, beer garden, food court, and retail vendors that are sure to make lasting impressions on both racers and spectators. Southern Shore Chapter of American Red Cross Fundraiser
Saturday, September 28th from 5:30 to 8 pm
Where: Ocean Galleries, Ocean Dr, Avalon
The fundraiser reception will take place from 5:30 PM until 8:00 PM on at the Avalon location of Ocean Galleries (22nd & Ocean Drive), with special guest Mayor Martin Pagliughi. In addition to a radio-thon hosted by Chris Nagle of Avalon’s WIBBAGE 94.3 FM, the highlight of the fundraiser will be the auctioning of a Hurricane Sandy tribute painting by the 11-year-old child prodigy, Autumn de Forest. Morey’s Piers Super Sunday & Curley Fry Dipping Contest
Sunday, September 29th 11 am to 5 pm
Where: Mariner’s Landing Pier, Schellenger Ave, Wildwood
Guests can enjoy $25 ride wristbands, strolling entertainment, face painting and the final judging of the Morey’s Piers first ever Curley Fry Dipping Sauce Contest from 1 pm – 3 pm. The competition kicked off on National French Fry Day, July 13 and ran through September 2, with more than 30 fry enthusiasts submitting their dipping sauce recipes for the chance to win $500 and free Curley’s Fries in 2014. At the event, the top five finalists will be on site creating their recipes for guests of the piers to judge. To participate as a judge, Curley’s Fries fans are invited to purchase their choice of tasting kits for $7 or $8 which includes five sauce tasting cups, one regular or bucket sized container of Curley’s Fries and a voting ballot.
