Get Active

Grab your bicycle, roller blades or sneakers and get active this spring. One of the highlights of the 7-mile island is the bike lane that continues through both towns: Stone Harbor and Avalon. This gives residents and visitors alike the opportunity to exercise and explore town within properly designated, safe bike lanes. Take the activity to the beach as well. Beaches allow well behaved and leashed dogs to accompany their owners on off season walks. Stone Harbor is the perfect place to take advantage of beach walks all year around.

The Wetlands Institute

The Wetlands Institute provides a fun, interactive and educational experience to those of all ages through nature exploration and discovery. Open weekends throughout the Winter for self-guided tours of all the Institute’s facilities. In the Spring and Summer, they offer naturalist-led programs including back bay boat rides, paddle boarding, kayaking, live animal interactions, family entertainment, and guided beach & dune walks. Stone Harbor Bird Sanctuary is a 21.5-acre bird sanctuary and nature preserve in Stone Harbor, Cape May County, New Jersey. This spring take advantage of Stone Harbor’s beautiful facilities. From playgrounds to Bocce Courts and sport fields, there is no shortage of ways to get active in town.
