Naval Air Station Wildwood (NASW) Aviation Museum has been eagerly awaiting the “all clear” to reopen following Governor Murphy’s March 21 “Stay at Home” order. Now that the order has been lifted and in-person retail has been approved, the museum and gift shop will be open daily 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. starting Monday, June 22.

The museum will operate under reduced capacity (25%) and limited hours to allow for additional cleaning. Social distancing and face coverings will be required and there will be a limit of 10 guests in the gift shop at any given time.

The 38’ high hangar doors will be in the open position allowing for fresh air flow and essentially creating an outdoor environment with a roof. Plexiglas sneeze guards have been added to the gift shop and 6’ social distancing reminders added throughout the facility. Be sure to stop in and see the Class of 2020 Graduate Wall on display at the museum’s entrance.

Naval Air Station Wildwood Aviation Museum is located inside historic Hangar #1 at the Cape May Airport, New Jersey. The site was formerly Naval Air Station Wildwood, which served as a World War II dive-bomber training center. The museum is dedicated to the 42 airmen who perished while training at Naval Air Station Wildwood between 1943 and 1945. For more information, visit www.usnasw.org or call (609) 886-8787.
