Plan to celebrate seafood and seashore cuisine with Avalon’s annual Seafood Festival set for Saturday, Oct. 12 and Sunday, Oct. 13 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Surfside Park, 30th Street and the Beach!
Attendees will enjoy delicious food from local vendors including Sylvester’s Seafood, The Whitebrier, Captain Chucky’s Seafood, and The Mermaid Mutineer to name a few. Vendors will be showcasing chowder, raw bar selections, fish tacos, BBQ, seared scallops and more. Be sure to return on Sunday for the 1 p.m. Chowder Championship, an all-you-can-eat contest where participants vote for the best chowder in town.
Browse the local retail vendors for original artwork, home décor, handmade jewelry, crafts, clothing, and accessories. Grab some local honey, browse seasonal gifts and decorations, and even pick up custom sports artwork for your favorite team (Go Eagles).
Children’s activities are scheduled throughout the weekend including crafts, an art bar, face painting, and balloon art, plus enjoy Avalon’s newly renovated Surfside Park playground.
Catch the weekend football games with a cool beverage at the Sound Advice Lounge, streaming live college and NFL games throughout the weekend. And finally tap your toes to a ton of live music options including the return of 40 North, the Michael Thompson Duo and new this year, Five Times Famous.
The Avalon Seafood Festival is set to be one of the best fall weekends of the year and is a must-do for visitors of all ages! Stop by Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. to Avalon’s Surfside Park! For a full schedule of events, go to www.visitavalonnj.com.
