Wildwood High School Eco Club Paddle-a-thon and Eco Fair

Mill Creek Marina, Ocean Drive, Cape May
The Wildwood High School ECO Club will be hosting a paddle a thon and ECO Fair to raise funds to help make the school cafeteria more green with reusable items. A $25 fee for participants to choose to paddle a three, five or seven mile course. Includes a t-shirt and food at the event site. ECO Fair will be taking place while people are paddling with local businesses hosting booths to inform public about environmental concerns, ways to help, up-cycling, face painting, and selling some of their local crafts and healthy foods. ALL PADDLE CRAFTS ARE WELCOME TO PARTICIPATE. People may come throughout the morning and jump in the water to paddle whatever path they wish to complete. This is not a race. This is a day of hanging with other local paddler, and a chance to get to meet some Wildwood High School students.
2019 Coast Guard Community Festival

The Cape May County Coast Guard Community Festival is presented by the Cape May County Coast Guard Community Foundation in partnership with the County of Cape May and its 16 municipalities, the Cape May County Chamber of Commerce, the City of Cape May and community sponsors.
The festival honors the men and women of the United States Coast Guard and celebrates the county’s designation as a Coast Guard Community. The designation was awarded after approval by the United States Coast Guard and an Act of Congress in 2015.
Considered by many to be the Coast Guard’s hometown, the festival takes place at Training Center Cape May (TRACEN) – the only active Boot Camp for Coast Guard recruits in the United States. Learn more about this FREE event at www.coastguardcommunity.org.

Downtown Wildwood Wine & Chocolate Lovers Weekend will be showcasing all things chocolate at Byrne Plaza on May 4 (noon to 8 pm) and May 5 (noon to 5 pm). There will be candies, fudge, cookies, cheesecakes, fruit and nuts, just to name a few. Chocolate Wine, Beer / Stout and Spirits will be available for sampling and bottle sales too! There will be an assortment of food trucks as well as food and artisan vendors offering Easter and Chocolate inspired wares and products.

Historic Cold Spring Village kicks off the 2019 season with its signature fundraiser, Feasting on History. The annual restaurant gala is one of the most anticipated social events of the season offering guests an opportunity to network with businesses and the community before the summer season begins. Feasting on History is now in its 19th year and promises to be an amazing event. It will be held at the Naval Air Station Wildwood Aviation Museum at the Cape May Airport on Tuesday, May 7th at 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Cape May County’s favorite restaurants, wineries, food trucks, distilleries, and breweries generously donate delicious food, signature dishes, wine, craft beers, and desserts. Last year over 500 guests enjoyed a night of food, music, and networking while celebrating the mission of Historic Cold Spring Village.
Feasting on History supports the Village and its mission of historic preservation, history education and heritage tourism. This season we are highlighting the Spicer Leaming House which was built in the 1800s. In 1977 The house was acquired by Historic Cold Spring Village and moved from the Cape May Canal area.
“The Spicer Leaming House has deep connections to some of the founding families of Cape May County and plays a central role in Historic Cold Spring Village’s preservation and interpretation of the 18th and 19th-century life. After over 40 years on the site, it is need of significant repairs to its foundations to ensure it will continue to play a vital part in telling the story of Cape May County for generations to come.” states John Ryan, Assistant Director of Historic Cold Spring Village. Proceeds from the 19th Annual Restaurant Gala will be used as matching funds for a Cape May Country Open Space Grant to restore Spicer Learning.
