Did you know (because I did not) that the Garden Greenhouse and Woodland Village – owned by the Catanoso family – does so much for the residents of Dennis Township? Each holiday, they host events for not just the families of Dennis Township, but for anyone that shows up! For instance, this past Halloween they provided free haunted hayrides to children, along with special treats like toasted s’mores over the fire pit, drinks, pumpkin carving, and trick-or-treating throughout both the Garden Center and Woodland Village. There were hundreds of children who came dressed in costume accompanied by their parents to enjoy the fun and ride the hayride – which must’ve went out about 22-24 times before the rain began. (I know this because I worked at the Woodland Village 1-2 days a week after retiring, so I witnessed it myself). Additionally, they host Kid’s Day in the early fall, providing children with bounties of free fun including arts & crafts, a bounce house, hot dogs and snacks, and a hands-on demonstration from Steve the animal guy. They also provide story time for children in the summer months, and they just recently completed their annual Christmas tree lighting along with a visit from Santa and his elves! As a tax payer and resident of Dennis Township since 1979, I was never aware of how generous the Catanoso family is, or how much they do for our community with no acknowledgement. Stop by in April to ask about their 2019 schedule of events, and if you want to experience a touch of Christmas magic, be sure to head over at dusk to see the Woodland Village and Garden Center light up like a Hallmark card!
Thank you, from all who have enjoyed those wonderful family activities!
