Come familiarize yourself with island sunsets and salty air with this week’s drink of the week, Know the Ropes from Brine.
Bartender Sam made us Know the Ropes by first pouring fresh-squeezed lime juice, homemade basil simple syrup cooked by the chef, and cucumber-infused vodka, also prepared by the chef, into a glass with ice. He then stirred the mixture, poured it into a stemless wine glass and topped it off with club soda. A lime wedge garnish completed the cocktail, bringing out the color of the lime juice in the glass. A few sips concluded that this is not your average summer cocktail. Citrusy and slightly sweet (but not too sweet), Know the Ropes is pleasantly light and refreshing with a bit of a bubble. Additionally, the basil adds a savory, ever-so-slight minty flavor that’s sure to amaze your taste buds.
Get to “Know the Ropes” and try this cocktail yourself alongside fresh food and waterfront views. Happy Hour is Monday through Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. and features food and drink specials that change as frequently as the tide.
