Broadway at the Beach Continues at Cape May Stage

Broadway at the Beach continues at Cape May Stage with PNC Arts Alive Presenting the 2018 Broadway series. PNC Arts Alive is a multi-year, multi-million dollar grant initiative of the PNC Foundation, which receives its principal funding from The PNC Financial Services Group, Inc.  In its eighth year, PNC Arts Alive challenges visual and performing arts organizations to put forth their best, most original thinking in expanding audience participation and engagement.

The Broadway series had a nearly sold out performance of Will & Anthony Nunziata on July 9 and already has a sold out performance of Jimmy Webb on July 16. Don’t miss your chance to see Andrew Keenan-Bolger on July 23. Andrew is an actor, director, author and filmmaker. He recently starred as Jesse Tuck in “Tuck Everlasting” on Broadway. He created the role of Crutchie in the Original Broadway Cast of “Newsies” and in the record-breaking “Newsies: The Broadway Musical” film. Other Broadway credits include “Mary Poppins,” “Seussical,” “Beauty and the Beast” and “A Christmas Carol.”

Closing the series on Aug. 13 are two multi-award winning Broadway actresses Anita Gillette and Penny Fuller. Often mistaken for each other – although one is a redhead and the other is blonde and three inches taller – these women are armed with adventures from the Golden Age of Broadway: stories and songs of their glories and disappointments, adventures in the land of motherhood, friendship and romance.

All Broadway performances start at 8 p.m. Tickets are $50 which include an after party directly following the performance.  Don’t miss your chance to experience Broadway at the Jersey Shore. Call (609) 770-8311 or visit www.capemaystage.org for more information.

In addition to our Broadway Series, Cape May Stage is proud to present “When Broadway Hits the Billboards” on July 30 at 8 p.m. This one-night-only event will feature the music of Barbra Streisand, Judy Garland and so much more performed by Carole J. Bufford and Lianne Marie Dobbs, who can be seen Tuesday through Sunday as Faye in “Chapter Two” at Cape May Stage.

Carole J. Bufford has become one of the most sought-after young performers in the New York cabaret and jazz scene. Her recent show “Speakeasy” (featuring the Grammy Award-winning “Vince Giordano & The Nighthawks” and “Body & Soul”) earned her rave reviews across the board, including The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal. Lianne Marie Dobbs was Off-Broadway playing six different characters in “Himself & Nora,” and Hildy in the revival of “A Tree Grows in Brooklyn.” Recently, she portrayed Aldonza in “Man of La Mancha” at Gretna Theatre and toured the Caribbean Seas as Dyanne in “Million Dollar Quartet.”

Tickets are $40 each and can be purchased online or by calling the box office at (609) 770-8311.
