Mark Your Calendar… 4-H Foundation Announces Dates for Annual 4-H Fair

Mark your calendar for the 2018 Cape May County 4-H Fair! The Cape May County 4-H Foundation, Inc. announces that the fair will take place on July 19, 20 and 21 at the 4-H Fairgrounds located at 355 Court House-South Dennis Rd. in Cape May Court House. Admission is free!

4-H Foundation volunteers donate their experience, energy and time to create the annual 4-H Fair. The board members have been meeting all spring to discuss changes and new events coming to the fair this July. 4-H Fair attendees can look forward to exciting entertainment, a variety of activities for young and old alike, diverse food vendors, and educational and fun exhibits.

New entertainment this year includes Cowboy Larry and Brave Beth with two shows on Saturday complete with trick roping, bullwhips, trick shooting and more. Plus, Cowboy Larry will stroll the fairgrounds entertaining and making our young visitors his deputy sheriffs. Jet Weston and His Atomic Ranch Hands, authentic singing cowboys, have been added to the line-up performing on Saturday from 3 to 6 p.m. on the main stage.

Children are invited to attend Peter Rabbit’s Harvest Party, a new event on Friday night. Children will harvest vegetables, enjoy healthy snacks and have a visit from a celebrity guest.

Some returning events include a color run and a children’s pet show (open to all), livestock and horse shows, a Market Animal Auction, bouncy houses, and a Maker Space that combines elements of innovation, do-it-yourself skills, crafts and technology. Thanks to the work of the Rutgers Master Gardeners, the Irma McVey Memorial Herb Garden will be open for touch, taste and smell tours, plus there will be a number of “How To” Tent Talks taking place throughout the fair.

Vendors, volunteers and company sponsors are always needed to make the 4-H Fair a success. Learn more about the Cape May County 4-H Youth Development Program and the 4-H Fair at the 4-H Foundation website cmc4h.com or call (609) 465-5115 ext. 3605.
