WHITESBORO – Concerned Citizens of Whitesboro will host the 15th Annual John Roberson Golf Tournament on Friday, May 11, 2018 at Avalon Golf Club, Cape May Court House. Proceeds from this event will benefit the CCWI Scholarship Fund which awards scholarships to Cape May County high school students who have received an acceptance letter from a college or an approved post high school program of study.
The tournament will kick off with registration and lunch at 11 a.m. and a shotgun start at 12:45 p.m. Following the tournament, an awards and recognition dinner will be held. We are very grateful for the support of our sponsors, volunteers, family and friends who have helped make this milestone event possible. Our members believe that education and knowledge are the most powerful weapons one can use to change the world. Therefore we stay true to our dedication of providing educational opportunities to Cape May County students of all nationalities, race, creed and color.
Concerned Citizens of Whitesboro was established in 1988 and incorporated in 1989 as a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization in Whitesboro (Middle Township). In 2002, Concerned Citizens of Whitesboro, Inc. aka CCWI recognized a need to financially assist students who wanted to further their education by attending college or continue their college career. Hence, the John Roberson Golf Tournament was initiated in honor of former Middle Township Student/Teacher/Coach/Alumni, John Roberson to fundraise for scholarships for Cape May County students. Since its inception, our organization has awarded more than $325K in scholarship funds to Cape May County students.
As our nonprofit organization will also celebrate its 30th year of community service in Cape May County over Labor Day Weekend 2018, our goal is to make 2019 a “BANNER” year in awarding scholarships to students. We invite you to join us in our efforts to provide scholarships, as a player, sponsor or scholarship donor.
