Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s master sleuth, Sherlock Holmes, with his loyal friend Dr. John Watson, return to follow the clues in a baffling new mystery for 2018, “Sherlock Holmes and The Case of a Siren’s Call,” written by John K Alvarez, playwright. Cape May’s Sherlock Holmes Weekend is held at the historic Inn of Cape May, 7 Ocean St., Cape May, and presented by the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts & Humanities (MAC), from Friday, March 16 through Sunday, March 18.
A gathering of successful writers descends upon the city of London to compete for the literary “Siren Call” award. The evening event has a list of distinguished nominees, ranging from the Gothic writer Selene Gundren, to the ever-popular Dr. John Watson. When a murder occurs and his close associates are in peril, Holmes sails in to face the threat. But will he be enough?
Stalk the gaslit streets in search of clues and compete for the $250 grand prize and a variety of other valuable gifts as you attempt to solve the mystery. Full weekend packages are available at $200 per couple or $105 per person and include the welcome reception, performances, tour, luncheon and gift. The Search for Clues tour on Saturday, March 17, from 1 to 3 p.m. can be purchased as a separate admission of $15. Affordable overnight packages with accommodations are also available.
