Children’s Story Hour runs through Nov. 30 on Tuesdays and Thursdays (except Thanksgiving) at 10:30 a.m. at the Historic Cold Spring Village Welcome Center. This free interactive program includes music, a story and craft centered around Cape May Country’s history. This is a perfect program for pre-K through kindergarten! This program is made possible in part by a re-grant administered by the Cape May County Culture and Heritage Commission, from funds granted by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts. Adult Nature Camp

The focus of our inaugural Adult Nature Camp this fall will be to transport our “campers” back to their childhood. First, we’ll pick up cool things off of the beach like shells, driftwood and flotsam to be used in the camp’s “Adult Arts & Crafts” programs. Then, we’ll employ various media to transform these items into beautiful works of art which will make thoughtful and treasured holiday gifts for your friends and family. Remember, these camps are for adults only, so campers must be over 21, and BYOB is your option. Sign up for all classes in advance and receive one class free along with an art apron to wear. Pre-registration is required since space is limited. Call (609) 427-3045 to sign up. Cost is $20 per session for New Jersey Audubon members and $25 for non-members and includes all materials. Your registration cost includes a materials and supplies fee, but participants are encouraged to bring any extra items that they so choose. Classes have been scheduled for Thursday evenings from 6 to 8:30 p.m.
CMCSSSD Education Foundation’s Cocktails For a Cause

The Cape May County Special Services School District (CMCSSSD) Education Foundation hosts its 20th annual auction to benefit the children of the district from 7 to 10 p.m. The public is invited to attend this special event. The event will include a silent auction as well as a live auction with John Lynch. There will be a one-hour reception with complimentary beer and wine from 7 to 8 p.m. followed by passed hors d’oeuvres throughout the evening, a cash bar and a fun, festive atmosphere with music by DJ Jason. OC Quiet Festival

Ocean City once again will welcome the calmer season with its annual Quiet Festival. The Ocean City Free Public Library, Ocean City Arts Center, Ocean City Historical Museum, Ocean City Aquatic and Fitness Center and Howard S. Stainton Senior Center each will be host to activities during the two-day festival. Some of the activities will include Royalty Storytime, Building Block/Brick Demo, Teddy Bear Tea and Ballet Demo with Miss New Jersey, Crossword Puzzle Competition and Quiet Pet Competition. Trail of Two Cities 5K Walk & Run

Ocean City Transportation Center, 9th Street & Haven Avenue, Ocean City
Take on the challenge of running across the 9th Street Bridge during the annual Trail of Two Cities 5K Walk & Run from the Ocean City Transportation Center to the John F Kennedy Park in Somers Point. The entire course will be police patrolled and the race-bound lane of the bridge will be closed to traffic for the duration of the event. Pre-registration is open online until Nov. 1 at lmsports.com for a fee of $25 per person. Registration after Nov. 1 is $30. Spirit Brands Island Cheerleading Championships

The championships will take place at the Wildwoods Convention Center from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Cheerleading competitions include recreation, school, college, open and all-star divisions. Soroptimist International of Cape May County will be hosting its ever-popular Fashion Show and Luncheon event. ELTC ‘The Roaring Twenties’ Gala

ELTC presents its annual fundraiser with this year’s theme “The Roaring Twenties,” in which guests are encouraged to wear costumes from the period. The gala begins at 5:30 p.m. with hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. At 6 p.m. dinner is served, and at 7 p.m. the entertainment begins. There is also a silent auction and the raffle for the Dream Vacation, and the recipient of the Historic Jackson Street Neighborhood Association Scholarship Fund will be announced.
