The Cape May County Park & Zoo is over 200 acres of excitement and adventure, with more than 550 inhabitants representing 250 species of both exotic and native animals. The perfect alternative to a day at the beach, the zoo offers fun for every member of your family! Learn more about the several exhibits and attractions that make our zoo one of the best:
World of Birds Aviary
The enclosed, climate controlled World of Birds Aviary has around 65 specimens representing over 20 species, ranging from exotic flamingos to more familiar birds.
The Reptile & Amphibian House
About 150 animals representing approximately 60 species of snakes, turtles, alligators, lizards and arachnids live in the Reptile & Amphibian House. One of the rarer reptiles is the Cuban crocodile with a distinct pointed snout. There are also plenty of snakes including pythons and boa constrictors.
The African Savanna
The African Savanna is 57 acres of plains-type land where giraffes, zebras, antelopes and ostriches roam freely. Walk out on a boardwalk and see all these animals safely from a distance.
Big Cat Exhibit
Check out cougars, cheetahs, lions and leopards. The zoo’s resident Siberian tiger, “Rocky,” recently passed in June. Since 2002, guests have been inspired by this majestic giant, making him one of the most recognized animals at the zoo.
Primates
The zoo contains about a dozen different species of monkeys.
New Jersey Animals
See swift foxes, river otters and other New Jersey natives.
Walter Trettin Memorial Snow Leopard Habitat
This state-of-the-art exhibit houses Bataar, a 9-year-old male from the Bronx Zoo, and Tysa, a 4-year-old female from Taganayaka Wildlife Park in Kansas. On May 19, two female snow leopard cubs were born to Bataar and Tysa. The purpose of this exhibit is to help conserve the species and prevent their extinction under the SSP (Species Survival Plan).
Tree to Tree Adventure Park
This six-acre aerial park offers more than 100 tree-top obstacle adventures, featuring zip lines, climbing nets, Tarzan swings and other fun obstacles for those ages 7 and older of every athletic ability. Thrill seekers should be prepared to challenge both the body and mind!
In addition, the Cape May County Park & Zoo offers winding trails for hikers, bikers, joggers and wildlife watchers, multiple picnic areas, a huge playground and more. The fun is always free at the zoo, but donations are always appreciated!
