Join Us for Herald Community Day!

Come celebrate the Cape May County Herald’s 50th Anniversary at the Cape May County Park and Zoo on Saturday, Aug. 26. Herald Community Day will be a fun day for those of all ages, featuring entertainment, games, food and more.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., groove to the sounds of Chameleon Funk, a high-energy party band blending all musical styles from classic rock and Motown to today’s hits – just like the chameleon.

Plenty of other family fun activities will take place during this time such as bounce houses by Mr. Bounce Entertainment, games, caricature drawings by J.A. Party Entertainment and more.

We can’t forget about our characters – you never know who might show up. Be sure to stop by the Herald’s Welcome Tent to spin our prize wheel and win some goodies, plus enter to win our grand prize.

The Herald will provide food and refreshments including hot dogs from Westside Meats from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., while supplies last. When you’re done eating, head to the Kona Ice truck for some sweet treats. Enjoy tropical shaved ice from the coolest truck in town, and use the Flavorwave to add your favorite flavors.

Stick around for our special ceremony at 12:45 p.m.

Businesses represented at Herald Community Day include Cape May County Library, ShopRite, Westside Meats, Cape May County Municipal Utilities Authority (MUA), Brookdale Cape May, Tree To Tree Cape May, AtlantiCare, JDRF, Atlantic Cape Community College, Cape May County Sheriff’s Office with police dogs, Cape May-Lewes Ferry, Atlantic City Electric, Habitat for Humanity, Cape Regional Health System and more.
