Circle Pizza has been a staple on the Seven Mile Island for over 40 years. This popular pizza spot is family owned and operated by the Buchanans, descendants of Avalon’s original pizza family headed by patriarch Mario Vozella. Mario’s two daughters, Eleonora and Camille, along with their husbands, Paul Buchanan and Joseph Damiri, opened Avalon Pizza on 23rd and Ocean Drive in 1968. Now known as Circle Pizza, this eatery has been serving the best specialty pizzas, sandwiches and more to Avalon and Stone Harbor since then, and to Sea Isle City since 2000.
Circle Pizza’s secret is simple: the best and freshest ingredients make for the highest quality food filled with maximum flavor. Each ingredient is carefully measured to ensure your satisfaction!
Baking great pizza is a family tradition from the days when Grandmom Mary Vozzella made her square, finger-pressed pizzas on cookie sheets in her Philadelphia kitchen for her 10 grandchildren. Over the years, all of the grandchildren and their children have been elbow-deep in pizza dough. Working in the restaurant became a rite of passage, where many family memories were made. The “family” included all the cousins and friends who worked at Circle Pizza over the years, from the early mornings in the dough rooms to the wild and crazy late nights managing the hungry crowds.
The folks at Circle Pizza invite you in to keep this tradition alive. The menu is constantly changing to keep up with your appetite, but always has options full of Italian flavors that everyone in your family will love. Choose from appetizers, salads, sandwiches, burgers, pasta dinners, Stromboli, calzone and of course, pizza!
If Circle Pizza’s extensive menu and 12 specialty pizzas aren’t enough, the Garden of Eat’n at the Avalon Food Court (21st Street and Dune Drive) features multiple food venues to satisfy any appetite. Experience unique brick oven pizza slices or savory roasted wings at Vozzella’s Brick Oven Pizza; indulge in a juicy burger or a creamy milkshake from Beach Burger; enjoy a taco from Big Chancho’s Tacos, or visit Chancho’s Bug, a 1968 Volkswagen Beetle serving up food from a wood-fired grill.
Whatever each member of your family chooses to eat, you can all sit down and eat your meal together in this outdoor, food court atmosphere. The Garden of Eat’n has water features and a fire pit, making for a great place to sit back, relax, unwind and enjoy whatever cuisine you’re in the mood for.
