Bring a bag lunch and learn during this winter’s Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts & Humanities (MAC) Lunch and Learn series — 11 informative talks on popular topics of history, culture, science and the arts at noon on Wednesdays, from Jan. 18 through March 30. Come to the Carriage House on the grounds of the Emlen Physick Estate for these informative talks that are free for MAC members and $5 for non-members. Admission includes beverages. “How to Spot an Owl” with Pat Sutton

Local naturalist, Pat Sutton, will remove some of the mystery of owl finding, while simultaneously conveying the excitement of searching for and studying these illusive nocturnal predators. Pat and her husband, Clay Sutton, have studied owls in the wild for over 30 years and have their own book. This is a free educational program open to the public, sponsored by the Environmental Commission of West Cape May. Pat Sutton will be happy to sign books after the program. National Youth Wrestling Duals

The Atlantic Coast Wrestling Association hosts an elementary and middle school wrestling tournament for grades 2 through 8, with over 1,500 wrestlers! Friday: 1 to 8:30 p.m.; Saturday: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Sunday: 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Times are subject to change. 4-H CHOPPED! Cooking Content

The Kitchen Phanatics 4-H Club will host the 4-H CHOPPED! Cooking Contest. The event is open to all registered 4-H members in Cape May County who are in the 4th grade or older. Contestants will have two hours for food prep and cooking and will be judged on creating a table setting, displaying a menu for one meal and preparing one dish from their menu. The twist to the contest is that all prepared dishes must include bacon, regardless of whether the recipe is intended for breakfast, lunch, dinner or dessert. Contestants are required to bring all items needed for prep, cooking and serving, as well as all items for their table setting. Historical Museum Children’s Tea

The Ocean City Historical Museum invites the community to its annual Children’s Tea from noon to 2 p.m. This year’s theme is “Tea with the Mad Hatter.” The event is perfect for children 5 to 10 years old. Participants will learn about a proper Victorian Tea, do arts and crafts and, most of all, enjoy an afternoon tea. Sponsors include the Exchange Club of Ocean City, the Colony Club of Ocean City, John Betz and his Team at Starbucks of Ocean City and the Cake Studio of Ocean City. Space is limited. Members of the Ocean City Historical Museum are able to purchase tickets now at $8 per person, and the public can purchase tickets for $10 per person. Tickets must be purchased in advance. Congress Hall’s 3rd Annual Ice Ball

Guests will step into a glistening forest of lit branches and sculpted ice figures when they enter Congress Hall’s Ballroom and tented Grand Lawn for the 3rd Annual Ice Ball. The Ice Ball is a benefit for The Fund for Cape May, raising funds to support South Jersey’s Cape Island communities. This year’s gala features cocktails and hors d’oeuvres in the Ballroom, dinner on the lawn, and dancing and dessert in the Ballroom-turned-ice-palace.
