The Jersey Shore Pops Continues its Popular Concert Series with Johnny Petillo
Linda Gentille & The Jersey Shore Pops are proud to continue their popular 2016 Summer Concert Series at the Middle Township PAC with “Wildwood Days” starring Johnny Petillo on Saturday, August 20 at 7 p.m. The show will feature music from the hit Broadway musical “Jersey Boys.”
Johnny Petillo performed for many years at various venues in Stone Harbor and is known as a fabulous entertainer and comedian. His career spans four decades in many genres both on television and the live stage. Recently, he has starred in the National Tour of Johnny Petillo Juke Box Dreams Show, Tony Orlando with Johnny Petillo on Tour, Johnny Petillo One Man Show and Johnny Petillo TV Variety Show from New York. In the 1990s, he hosted The Johnny Petillo Show, a weekly entertainment TV show. Interviewing and booking all the talent for the show, Petillo had the opportunity to work with guests like Tony Orlando, Comedienne Pudgy, Danny & The Juniors, The Duprees, The New Chordettes and many others.
The Jersey Shore Pops is a big band orchestra with string section, modeled after the orchestras of the Frank Sinatra era which featured a string section along with the bid band sounds. The orchestra was founded by entertainer and conductor Linda Gentille in 2009. The orchestra features 25 of the finest New Jersey musicians either born or based in New Jersey. It has become the most popular orchestra at the shore and an attraction for tourists from all over the East Coast for the past six years. Many Philly Pops fans patronize the Jersey Shore Pops Summer Concert Series when the Philly Pops is on vacation during the summer months.
