Mayor Desiderio’s 25th Annual Holiday Toy & Food Drive – Beginning Nov. 24
Beginning Friday, Nov. 24, donations of unwrapped new toys, non-perishable food items and gift cards can be brought to numerous drop-off locations around Sea Isle City, including City Hall, First Bank of Sea Isle City, Kix-McNutley's Package Goods on 63rd Street, Mrs. Brizzle’s Buns & Deli, Rick's Breakfast House Restaurant and the Sea Isle City Welcome Center. All items collected during the Toy and Food Drive will be delivered to local families in need prior to Christmas Day. For more information, call (609) 263-4461 ext. 1245.
Annual Postal Food Drive – Dec. 2
On Saturday, Dec. 2, the letter carriers, both rural and city, and many other postal employees and volunteers from the Cape May, Cape May Court House, Villas, Rio Grande, Wildwood, Stone Harbor, Avalon, Sea Isle City, Ocean View, Ocean City, Marmora and Woodbine Post Offices will be collecting non-perishable foods to help fill our local food banks. The food banks are desperately low, especially this time of year. Please leave any non-perishable foods by your mailbox and your mail carrier will pick it up; or, you can drop off any food at your local post office. All the food collected stays in our local food banks!
Allstate's Donation Drive – Through Dec. 11
Allstate agency owners from across New Jersey are coming together to host a supply drive to benefit the New Jersey Coalition to End Domestic Violence (NJCEDV). The donations will support the nonprofit’s mission to provide services to help end domestic violence and financial abuse throughout the state. Now through Dec. 11, the public can participate by donating new winter coats, hats, gloves and scarves for women, boys and girls. Items are being collected at Joseph Campbell’s Allstate location, 15 S. Main St., Suite. 1, Cape May Court House.
Family Promise of Cape May County Holiday Gift Drive – Through Dec. 13
Jersey Shore Federal Credit Union is collecting gifts for their Starfish Angel Tree to benefit Family Promise of Cape May County’s Christmas Party to help make Children’s Christmas wishes come true! Stop by the credit union in Rio Grande and select a starfish tag from the tree in the lobby. Unwrapped gifts should be returned to the credit union’s lobby and placed under the tree with the tag attached by Wednesday, Dec. 13. For more information, call (609) 382-4356. AMI Foundation Holiday Toy Drive – Through Dec. 15
Patients and community members are invited to join Atlantic Medical Imaging (AMI) physicians and staff in donating new, unwrapped toys, which will be donated to the Toys for Kids Program. Coat-A-Kid Distribution Event – Through Dec. 21
The Cape May County Council for Young Children has partnered with Caring for Kids and the Citizen’s Review Board to make sure families in Cape May County stay warm this winter! Drop off coats at two locations (by appointment only) through Dec. 21: Caring For Kids, 31 E. Mechanic St., Cape May Court House, or the Cape May County Council for Young Children, 100 E. Anglesea Irish Society 5th Annual Holiday Toy Drives
Anglesea Irish Society’s mission is to enhance the lives of those in the community by answering the call of duty for volunteerism and community service. This year, Anglesea Irish Society again will be hosting its ‘Annual Toy Drives’ – one to benefit local families in need from the Southern Cape May County, and the second to benefit terminally ill children at Shriners Hospital in Philadelphia, Pa. Shoprite Holiday Meal Donation Bags
Donate a Holiday Meal to a family in need. At ShopRite of Rio Grande, purchase a pre-packed donation bag filled with ingredients for a Thanksgiving meal, and Community FoodBank of New Jersey - Southern Branch will distribute them to local families in our community! Dennis Township Secret Santa Program
The Dennis Township Chamber is sponsoring its annual “Secret Santa” program. This program benefits Dennis Township and Woodbine residents and their families by providing much needed assistance during the holiday season. The chamber is seeking sponsors and donations from businesses and individuals so that it may help as many families as possible. Collection boxes for toys and consumer products are located in area businesses and post offices. Holiday Donations for C.A.R.A.
This time of season can become overwhelming for those who are affected physically, emotionally and/or financially by abuse. To help alleviate some of the stress, C.A.R.A. (the Coalition Against Rape and Abuse, Inc.) provides families in need a day of shopping to help make the holidays a pleasant time for our clientele. But we cannot do it alone. Sgt. William Alvarez Memorial Toy Drive
The Cape May Police continue the tradition of their toy drive in honor of Sgt. Alvarez, as the drive was his passion until his passing. The effort of the toy drive depends on generous donations from the community. Please purchase a gift and drop off the unwrapped gift at the Chamber of Commerce of Greater Cape May Welcome Center, 609 Lafayette St., Cape May, across the street from Acme. The center is open daily 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. If you wish to make a cash or check (payable to Cape May Police Toy Drive) donation, drop it off in person to the Police Dispatch window located at the Police Department, 643 Washington St., Cape May, or mail it to that address. 41st Annual Lower Township’s Kids Christmas
Lower Township’s Kids Christmas has grown into a community-wide effort to help Lower Township families in need at Christmas time. This year the program will help over 100 families with toys for the children and food for the entire family. The greatest need is for toys/gift cards for older children, ages 10-14. New unwrapped toys and monetary donations (checks can be made out to Lower Township’s Kids Christmas) can be dropped off at the Lower Township Police Station, located in the Airport Complex at 405 Breakwater Rd., daily from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Other drop-of locations include Lucky Bones Restaurant, Crest Savings Bank – North Cape May Branch (Bayshore Road), Uncle Bills – North Cape May Location (Bayshore Road), Lower Township Town Hall and Maud Abrams Elementary School.
